Life has been as reserved as hibernating brown bears, with some improvement in snow plowing skills.
Though there’s been a fair amount of snowfall during January and February, it feels a bit more upbeat than at the end of last year, when the sun would set before four in the afternoon around the winter solstice. Due to the location of Hokkaido, high in latitude and advanced in longitude, sunup in summer and sunset in winter are quite early. This phenomenon becomes even more noticeable in the northeastern part of the island like the city of Nemuro.
That’s it for today, have a great Friday 13th, everyone.
